The WSHT NZ Series High-Efficiency Thickener is designed for dewatering and concentration of mineral slurries and tailings in beneficiation plants. Featuring a deep cone design, advanced flocculant dosing system, and automatic rake lifting mechanism, the NZ series achieves high underflow density with clear overflow quality. It is extensively used in gold CIL/CIP plants, copper concentrators, iron ore processing, and tailings management systems to recover process water and produce dense pumpable underflow.

Technical Specifications

Working Principle

The thickener operates on the principle of gravitational sedimentation. Feed slurry enters through the feedwell at the center of the thickener, where flocculant is mixed to promote particle agglomeration. As the slurry moves outward and downward, solid particles settle to the bottom under gravity, forming a compact sediment layer. The rotating rake mechanism slowly moves the settled solids toward the central discharge outlet. Clear liquid overflows into the launder at the periphery for recovery and reuse. The underflow is discharged continuously or intermittently through a positive displacement pump.
